Maximizing Exposure for Your Themes
You’ll notice on many of these themes that I’ve linked directly to the WordPress Theme Viewer. In some cases, that’s because that’s where I found the theme. In most of them, though, it’s because the theme wasn’t easy to link to.
If you want to get the greatest exposure for all your themes, not just the ones that make a gallery, here are some tips:
- Have a dedicated page for each theme, not a single page that lists all your themes. Frequently, people will want to link to a specific theme. If you don’t give them a way to do that, they’ll just link to a site that does.
- Have a clear Preview link. The main thing people want to do is see what your theme actually looks like. I’m surprised by how many sites make you really hunt around for a preview link and by how many don’t provide one at all.
- Have a clear link to the rest of your themes. Because people will frequently enter your site on the dedicated page for one of your themes, make sure it’s clear that you also offer other themes and make them easy to get to.
By putting yourself into the shoes of someone looking for a theme, or someone wanting to showcase one of your themes, you’ll get much more benefit from all the hard work you put into creating your themes.
